In 2008 hate crimes had doubled for gay men. Three quarters of hate crime against LGBT is violent. Men make up to 85% of that three quarters. People aged 12-22 are responsible for 6 out of 10 hate crimes while people blame 17-18 year olds. 75% of all hate crimes go unreported. Put on a scale of population, small cities have the highest rates for hate crimes. Hate crimes against LGBT are the most violent type of hate crime.
